Winter 2024
Message from the Dean
Dear Friends,
As we reflect on 2023, it offers us an opportunity to look to the year ahead with renewed purpose. I am grateful for the continuing efforts of our extraordinary faculty, staff, alumni, students, and friends to build and improve the health and well-being of our community. Thanks to generous donations during our Giving Tuesday campaign, the College reached its goal and was able to raise over $10,000 for the CPH Environmental Health Pathways Fund. If you did not get a chance to make your gift during Giving Tuesday but wish to before the year鈥檚 end, please use this .
I am pleased to announce some milestone successes CPH reached during this year. A generous grant from the Elisabeth Severance Prentiss Foundation will allow the College to join health care partners and make a real impact on the health of our most vulnerable communities in Northeast Ohio. Through a new mobile unit, the Mobile Flashes program will offer free health promotion services while providing a unique learning opportunity for our students. Thanks to another grant, a research team co-led by CPH professor Dr. Mary Step will assess the impact of its Positive Peers app on the health outcomes of individuals aged 13-34 living with HIV. I am thankful for these outstanding opportunities and looking forward to sharing with you our future achievements.
In this issue of the newsletter, you will get to know the newest member of the CPH team, CPH newest staff member, Giulia Cerasi, and learn more about CPH professor Dr. Lynette Phillips. You will also read about the incredible strength and dedication to others demonstrated by CPH graduate student Reganne O' Brien. You will also have the opportunity to discover the latest accomplishments of a selection of CPH alumni.
To our faculty, staff, and community partners, please accept my sincere appreciation for all your incredible work and commitment to our students and to each other. To our students and alumni, your daily dedication and perseverance is continuously inspiring. To all of you, thank you for making CPH a place I am proud to lead.
My warmest wishes for a happy and healthy new year! May 2024 bring you and your loved ones health, joy, and peace.
Yours in good health,
Sonia Alemagno
