Fall 2022
Message from the Dean
Dear Friends,
As we approach the holiday season, I want to thank every one of you who contributed to our College of Public Health Study Abroad Fund during our Giving Tuesday campaign and throughout the year. Thanks to your overwhelming support, we reached our goal and we made studying abroad more accessible to CPH students, offering them a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see public health through an international lens. I am deeply grateful for your generosity and kindness! If you did not get a chance to make your gift during Giving Tuesday but wish to before the year鈥檚 end, please use the link this newsletter. I look forward to sharing with you all our future accomplishments.
In this issue, you will meet our new faculty member, Dr. Jennifer King and our new academic advisor, Chelsea Knarr. We welcome them to the CPH family! You will also learn that two of our amazing students, Rachel LaFlame and Shawn Schreckengost Jr., have been awarded with prestigious scholarships by the Gay Community Endowment Fund. You will also get acquainted with our alumna Nicole Teefy and learn about our faculty and student participation at the American Public Health Association鈥檚 annual meeting in Boston.
To our students, faculty, staff and alumni, your dedication and hard work inspire me daily. I look forward to working with you in 2023 to embrace new opportunities. I wish you and your loved ones the safest and happiest of holidays and a healthy new year.
Yours in good health,
Sonia Alemagno
Dean, College of Public Health
