Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University President Beverly Warren has announced the appointment of Stephen Sokany, an alumnus and longtime employee, to the position of vice president for institutional advancement, effective Aug. 8, 2016. Sokany has served the university since 1993 in a number of development and institutional advancement roles, most recently as executive associate vice president for institutional advancement. Sokany replaces Jeff McLain, who stepped down from the position Aug. 1, 2016.
Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University’s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Todd Diacon has announced that Susan Stocker, Ph.D., has been appointed interim dean and chief administrative officer of Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University at Geauga, located in Burton, Ohio, and Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg, effective Aug. 20, 2016. Stocker has led Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Ashtabula as dean and chief administrative officer since 2001 and will continue in this role.
Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University's holiday closure for 2024 will begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.
Testing Your Faith Act (H.B. 353) was enacted in the Spring 2023 semester. In ordinance with this bill, Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University created a new administrative policy for religious and spiritual accommodations. This administrative policy allows students to report up to three days of unexcused absences to participate in religious holidays or community-held events in alignment with their spirituality.
