两性色午夜 Interim Senior Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley, Ph.D., and Interim Vice President for Student Affairs Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., discussed ways that students can make the most of remote classes while still benefiting from student services during a recent appearance on Facebook Live. Both answered live questions and discussed such areas as summer class schedules, support for struggling students and staying healthy.
Tankersley reiterated to the campus community that everyone needs to check on one another throughout the COVID-19 crisis. Even a text or other short message can make a big difference, she said.
"It means a lot because we care for one another, take care of one another. This gives us an opportunity to share what's happening in our lives and puts it in perspective," Tankersley said. "In our decisions that we're making, we're looking not only for what we're doing in our job, but how is that going to impact all others? How does it first impact our students? And then how does it impact our faculty and staff, and making sure that with every decision, we're doing the right thing for everyone."
Hylton noted that programs and resources are available for every student who reaches out for support.
"People have to feel comfortable and willing to say 'I need help' and 'this is not going well' or 'I need some extra support'," Hylton said. "So that we can be ready to embrace that and then set people up for the success that they deserve. Absolutely critically important for everybody."
