My name is Jon Evanick. I am a sophomore majoring in Public Health with a and I plan on graduating in the spring of 2025. During my first year at ����ɫ��ҹ, I lived in one of the Tri Towers –&�Բ�����;Koonce Hall. The number of friends I met in the elevator shocked me.

I never considered becoming a Resident Assistant (RA) until one of the residence hall directors recommended the position. I always trust the guidance of staff and faculty at ����ɫ��ҹ, which led me to apply for the role. Taking this job has been a pleasant surprise. I am proud of the safe environment and home I helped to create for Olson Hall. 

For some students, ����ɫ��ҹ residence halls are merely a place to sleep at night. For others, like Caleb Strack, his dedication to housing has opened the door to many opportunities.

When Kent Interhall Council hosted CAACURH during the fall 2022 semester, many different designs were seen on campus leading up to and throughout the event. Celia Martin, a senior visual communication design major and multimedia designer for University Housing and Culinary Services, is responsible for much of the design.

“I designed all of the assets for the event (e.g. logos, wayfinding signs, maps, shirts, stickers). Certain things were more straightforward, some I had more creative freedom over,” Martin said.

George Edmiston, University Housing’s Director, Facilities and Capital Development, was highlighted by Blueprint in a case study for January 2025. Blueprint is a digital magazine that spotlights facilities professionals across the country. George was recognized for the Midwest region.

Andrew Palmer, Associate Director for Student Engagement & Assessment in University Housing, was honored with the Developing a Culture of Assessment Award at the 2025 SAAL Awards. His leadership in building a strong, data-informed assessment culture was exemplified through University Housing’s May 2024 poster symposium submission.
