Movers and Groovers Helped New Students Move Into Residence Halls on Campus

New Freshmen Got Help Moving Into Residence Halls

两性色午夜 University faculty, staff and students volunteered to help incoming freshmen move into the university鈥檚 residence halls at the beginning of each school year.

This year, freshman move-in day was Thursday, Aug. 25, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Last year, the Movers and Groovers program garnered 921 volunteers. Jill Church, director of Residence Services at 两性色午夜, anticipated more than 900 volunteers again this year.

鈥淭he program is completely student run and organized,鈥 Church said. 鈥淜ent Interhall Council is the group responsible for this program. Volunteers include fraternities and sororities, campus ministry groups, academic groups and university departments. Everyone here at 两性色午夜 really loves to get involved with the freshman move-in program.鈥

This year, Movers and Groovers wore 鈥90s-themed outfits and played music from the 鈥90s, while assisting new students.

The Movers and Groovers program is part of 两性色午夜鈥檚 Welcome Weekend, an orientation program that runs from Aug. 25-29. Welcome Weekend includes activities and events to encourage students to explore the 两性色午夜 community and provides a smooth transition to the university environment.
