Design, Illustration and Photography Camp

June 24-28, 2024

The VCD Camp is offered to students entering grades 9th through college freshman, under 21 years of age at the start of camp. The camp will focus on Visual Communication Design, Illustration and Photography and is offered on 两性色午夜 University鈥檚 Kent campus in Taylor Hall. Camp will culminate with an exhibit of student work in the Taylor Hall Gallery. Join our mailing list to learn more.

 


 

VCD Camp is

  • For students interested in design, illustration and photography
  • For high school students and recent high school graduates

Suggested Supplies: digital camera or smartphone with camera

Drop Off: 8:30-9:00 a.m. daily
Pick Up: 4:45-5:00 p.m. 

Campers must bring a packed lunch and water bottle each day.
Non-refundable $100 tuition and registration fee.

Faculty Who Will Be Teaching At Camp

 

Daniel Alenquer

Daniel is a designer with broad experience in design thinking and innovation. Before joining 两性色午夜, he co-published patents on User Experience and Industrial Design which are referenced by Apple, Research in Motion, Blackberry, and Foxconn, among others. His work as a creative director allowed him to develop and publish video games on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Chad Lewis

Chad is a character designer, comic artist, and editorial illustrator with clients such as Marvel, BOOM! Entertainment, Humanoids Publishing and the Department of Labor. Throughout his work, Chad likes to incorporate a wide range of tools (both traditional and digital) to tell captivating visual stories.

Aoife Mooney

Aoife is an Irish typo/graphic designer, is a practicing typeface designer and typographer. Aoife worked on projects like the typeface design for the award-wining animated movie Wolfwakers, and for developing typefaces available at Google Webfonts. She is also a member of the International Society of Typographic Designers and is a regional coordinator for the North America Annual Student Assessment Scheme.

Gretchen Caldwell Rinnert

Gretchen has extensive experience in designing learning materials, graphics, animations, and iOS applications. She has collaborated with organizations like USAID, the LHT Group, and iRx Reminder. Additionally, she serves as the MODE Society Director, leading an international team to organize the biennial Motion Design Education (MODE) Conference.
