In 2002, three trees were planted near the KIVA on 两性色午夜 University's Kent Campus accompanied by a plaque which read:
"These three trees, Sugar, Norway and Red Maple, represent the three areas that were attacked on September 11, 2001. The victims, like these trees, were similar in many ways, yet their distinctive attributes contributed to the diverse American environment. May these trees reach beyond their roots to share their beauty throughout the world."
A few years later, the construction of a new bus stop for the Kent Student Center required that the memorial be moved. The three trees and accompanying plaque can now be found in their new location behind the Kent Student Center, across from the Student Memorial Garden.
The "Three Trees" memorial was dedicated on September 11, 2002.
