The Summit Professor of Learning Technologies and Professor of Educational Technology, Richard Ferdig, Ph.D., has had a multitude of students come through his courses. Each student has different preconceived notions, different goals and different reasons for joining his class.

On Nov. 18, ����ɫ��ҹ University President Todd Diacon and other campus members got their first look at the newly renovated ����ɫ��ҹ Ice Arena, which now houses a state-of-the-art space for the Marching Golden Flashes. 

KSU Navigate, a new technology platform more than two years in the making, will fully launch on Nov. 18, giving ����ɫ��ҹ University students an easy and efficient way to schedule tutoring and academic advising putting them on track for success in their coursework.

The ����ɫ��ҹ University community paid tribute to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces at the annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The program, titled “Honoring All Those Who Serve,” included a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from ����ɫ��ҹ’s Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC programs.

This Giving Tuesday season, you can start a ripple effect that drives change far beyond ����ɫ��ҹ. This monthlong celebration of giving offers you the opportunity to invest in the future by giving through ����ɫ��ҹ to the cause closest to your heart.

As excitement builds for the upcoming event hosted by your student group, you plaster posters on lamp posts and the sides of campus buildings to promote it. While ����ɫ��ҹ supports events created by student organizations, there is a right way and a right place to hang posters on campus.

As a first-generation college student coming from Wisconsin, I found the college experience nerve-wracking. I didn't have anyone nearby to support me, and I didn’t know anyone who had this shared identity. ����ɫ��ҹ's "I Am First Week" honors us and our struggles.

University Libraries hosted the 2024 Affordable Course Materials Summit, the fourth of its kind, aiming to promote the use of inexpensive course materials among faculty.  

Victoria Bylsma said it only took about two hours after a mentor suggested she look into a graduate degree in public health for her to know what she wanted to do with her career. Today, the ����ɫ��ҹ University Master of Public Health graduate helps to protect service members’ health and readiness as an injury epidemiologist at the Air Force Research Laboratory in Dayton.

Unsure of what he wanted to do in life when he first came to ����ɫ��ҹ University, it was the hands-on learning experiences he had in his degree program that led Dexter Shreve to becoming a business owner.

Myron Lard grew up just 40 miles from the East Palestine derailment site. He returned to help the community understand the impact.

International Education Week, taking place Nov. 18-22, celebrates the different cultures across the ����ɫ��ҹ University community and highlights international experiences and opportunities the university offers.

����ɫ��ҹ University has entered into an agreement with the Turkmenistan Ministry of Education to begin exploring the possibility of creating an educational partnership with several national institutes of higher learning there. The effort is part of ����ɫ��ҹ’s ongoing commitment to using education to foster global understanding and peace in a divided world.

A group of 21 secondary school teachers from 20 different countries is spending six weeks at ����ɫ��ҹ University as part of a Fulbright professional development program for foreign educators.

The FDA recently authorized the first over-the-counter hearing aid software device intended to be used with compatible versions of the Apple AirPods Pro headphones. The Greater Cleveland LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment findings are in. Led by ����ɫ��ҹ University’s College of Public Health, in collaboration with 120 local organizations and nonprofits, this groundbreaking initiative marks a significant stride toward understanding and addressing the unmet needs of LGBTQ+ individuals across Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Lorain counties. 

Three Minute Thesis is an opportunity for graduate students to put their academic, presentation, and research communication skills to the test by presenting research in three minutes to a non-specialist audience.

The Degree Completion Program allows former students who have attended ����ɫ��ҹ and people who have started a degree at other colleges or universities to finish their degrees at ����ɫ��ҹ.

Standing at the Kennedy Space Center’s Banana Creek viewing area on Monday, November 4, Mackenzie Guy watched in awe as her research project blasted off toward the International Space Station, marking a milestone in her academic journey that transcended her aviation studies.

����ɫ��ҹ’s School of Fashion has long fostered deep industry connections, and on Nov. 7 those partnerships were on full display as the school hosted a fashion show in Cleveland’s Flats district to launch the new all-electric Porsche Macan.

For Haider Riaz, the first orchestra concert of the season was an unforgettable experience. His original composition, “To the Memory of Shiver-Me, the CAT,” was premiered by the ����ɫ��ҹ University Orchestra, marking a significant artistic milestone for the young composer and offering the audience a moving tribute to a beloved pet.

Antonio Gates and James Harrison, two Golden Flashes alumni who took drastically different paths to professional football stardom, now find themselves a step closer to football immortality as semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.

The campus community joined together with pizza and joy Nov. 19 at ����ɫ��ҹ Tuscarawas to celebrate their national champion women’s volleyball program.
