October marked Mental Health Awareness month at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University. Although October doesn't align with the National Health Observance calendar, it was chosen because the need for mental health support peaks during October, according to Recreation and Wellness Services

The top nine presenters in Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹'s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) presented their research projects at the Kiva on Friday Oct. 28.  The top three winners and a People's Choice award winner were chosen.

From a mascot superhero to creative clouds to student pilots flying to victory, Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University's storytelling skills received high marks from , an international competition that honors excellence in marketing and communications that also recognizes the creativity, hard work, and generosity of industry professionals.

Eric Garner, a teacher who was able to shield his students from harm during the 2018 Parkland, Florida, high school shooting, urged journalism and media students to cover tragedies with empathy during an interactive discussion at the May 4 Visitors Center Reflection Gallery on Oct. 25. 

Performing in the debut of “What We Learned While Alone: Global Voices Speak to the Pandemic,’’ are: Bryce Evan Lewis, Eric Schmiedl, Tiffany Trapnell and Dan Telford, stage manager.

The debut performance of took place in the auditorium of the National Academy of Science in Washington, D.C., on Monday night.

Ava Latham created a sensory room at her former high school that garnered her a coveted Gold Award from Girl Scouts, the organization’s highest honor and the pinnacle of achievements for Latham, who has been a member since the second grade.

Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University’s Brain Health Research Institute (BHRI) will be welcoming a bevy of accomplished alumni back to the Kent Campus when it hosts the 10th Annual Neuroscience Symposium on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27 and 28.
