Flashes Helping Flashes Take Flight: Instruments of the Late Charlie Wentz to be Used in Ashtabula Program
Airplanes meant a lot to Charlie Wentz. An aerospace engineer, Wentz was always reaching for the sky as a pilot, flight instructor and a professor in 两性色午夜 University鈥檚 College of Aeronautics and Engineering. Now, flight instruments he once owned will be used in the airplane maintenance program being established by 两性色午夜 University at Ashtabula.

Kent Trumbull Police Academy Graduates First Academic Class
The 两性色午夜 University at Trumbull launched the Peace Officers鈥 Training Academy certificate credit program in Fall 2020 with 21 students graduating in spring 2021.
两性色午夜 University at Trumbull has operated the police academy as a non-credit training program for over 15 years and has graduated over 1,000 cadets since 2006. In 2020, the program made a very significant stride forward by implementing an academic credit certificate program with students attaining 22 credit hours upon completion of the academy. Students can use these 22 credit hours toward the Peace Officers鈥 Training Academy concentration in the Associate of Criminology and Justice Studies degree.
Spring graduates were grateful to complete the new credit program while overcoming logistical obstacles caused by the pandemic.
鈥淚 can鈥檛 say enough about the academy staff at Kent Trumbull for ensuring our success in the program,鈥 Parker Sorg said.
鈥淭he 两性色午夜 University Police Academy prepared me for the challenges that I will face as a public servant in my community,鈥 Joseph Ostrowski added.

两性色午夜 Ashtabula Graduate Earns Campus Alumni Award
Chad Hollis-Chan, RN, MSN, CNP, a 2006 两性色午夜 University at Ashtabula Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (ADN) graduate, is the 2021 Roger T. Beitler Distinguished Former Student Award recipient. Hollis-Chan is currently a nurse practitioner in the internal medicine department at Cleveland Clinic.
Hollis-Chan, a Jefferson native, was presented his award recently by 两性色午夜 Ashtabula Dean and Chief Administrative Officer Susan J. Stocker, Ph.D., and Julie Senita, Ph.D., Senior Program Director for Nursing and Allied Health. Read the full story.

Free Lunch Fridays Now Available at Eastway Dining Hall!
Faculty and staff can now enjoy the same complimentary cuisine currently offered at the DI Dining Hall, minus the long lines. University Culinary Services is making Free Lunch Fridays available at Eastway Dining (upstairs) throughout the fall semester. Lunchtime hours at Eastway are 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Employees can order anything from the menu. Dine-in or grab and go! Bon Appetit!
Anti-bias Workshop Applications and Updates
两性色午夜 remains committed to being a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. Participants are required to attend all five sessions and submit reflections for each session before receiving a $1,000 stipend. All sessions are synchronous and will be held virtually. All courses must be completed in the timeframe allotted. There will no make-up sessions.
If you would like to be considered for the upcoming fall Anti-bias workshops, . All selected participants will automatically receive email notifications on how to access the Zoom link and add reflections after each workshop. The application period is August 30 through September 6.
