Andrew Crawford Joins 两性色午夜 in Dual-Reporting Role with the Regional Campus Academic Administration and the Division of Enrollment Management

两性色午夜 University has selected Andrew Crawford as associate vice president of Strategic Enrollment Management for Regional Campuses. A former 两性色午夜 employee, Crawford will be responsible for designing, executing, and evaluating enrollment plans and strategies to meet the regional campus system's annual enrollment goals and managing all aspects of enrollment.

鈥淲e are very excited to welcome Andrew Crawford to our team,鈥 said Mary G. Parker, vice president for Enrollment Management. 鈥淗is students-first philosophy and his experience with student success will serve him well in this new capacity.鈥

Crawford previously served as dean of student affairs at the Eastern Campus of Cuyahoga Community College, where he led a comprehensive student services program, and provided direction and oversight for admissions, recruitment, university transfer, retention, counseling and psychological services, student accessibility services, student life, athletics and recreation. He will report to Parker and David Dees, interim vice president for 两性色午夜 System Integration.

鈥淲e are excited to welcome Andrew as a team member for the Regional Campus System,鈥 said David Dees. 鈥淗e fully appreciates the importance of each regional campus to its hometown community, and we know his energy and expertise will help us find ways to be stronger forces in those communities while supporting the overall vision of 两性色午夜.鈥

Previous positions include assistant dean of student affairs at the Metropolitan Campus at Cuyahoga Community College; assistant director of student success programs, Office of the Provost at 两性色午夜 University; and coordinator of campus life at The Ohio State University in Mansfield.

Andrew holds an Ed.D. in Education from Ferris State University; a Master of Education from Ohio University; and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida.

Andrew and his wife Annie reside in Copley, Ohio, with their three children Mary, Clark and Ruth. In their free time, Andy and his wife enjoy endurance sports. They have participated in multiple marathons together and he is currently training for his first Ironman 70.3 this summer.


Reinberger Children's Library Center Celebrates National Read Across America Day

The Reinberger Children鈥檚 Library Center will host a free pajama party for adults and children in recognition of National Read Across America Day on Mon., March 2, from 6 鈥 8 p.m. on the Kent Campus.

Kids of all ages and their parents and caregivers are invited to attend this fun-filled evening of storytelling, games and activities in room 311 in the 两性色午夜 University Library.

Yayra Tamakloe, a 两性色午夜 student and storyteller from Ghana, Africa, will perform Anansi; Dave Szalay, illustrator-in-residence, will create an art project and recite a story for the kids.

Andy Weyand Presented With Innovation Program Award

Andy Weyand, associate director of Career Services at the College of Business Administration, was recently presented with the Ohio College Personnel Association鈥檚 Innovative Program Award 2020 for his work on the college鈥檚 Ready for Business program and podcast.

The award is presented annually to a student affairs professional who has established a new program or approach to address business challenges. The Ready for Business podcast showcases interviews with employers, recent graduates, business students and faculty, and is geared toward providing recommendations and effective practices for listeners pursuing internships or career employment.

Have You Earned Your $300 Yet?

Don't leave your wellness dollars on the table for 2020.The April 30 deadlinewill be here before you know it for meeting your Tier 1 eligibility, which includes a "Know Your Numbers" health screening, to put you on track for your $300Wellness Reward.

If you haven't done so already, remember that you must have your "Know Your Numbers" screening done annually IF you are working toward the $300 Wellness Your Way reward. For the 2020 calendar year, your screening must be done between Sept. 1, 2019 - April 30, 2020. You can take advantage of one of the FINAL onsite screening dates shown below, provided by Be Well Solutions or have one completed with your primary care physician and have the results populated in the Tier 1 Physician Screening Form available on the , under Wellness Reward Program.

How to Schedule Your Appointment

  • Login to your private Be Well portal at . If you have never logged into Be Well, there are special instructionsfor first-time access at http://www.kent.edu/hr/benefits/partners-bewellsolutions.
  • Once you are logged in, select "My Appointments," then "Worksite Screening."Choose the date and location that best meets your schedule. Please keep in mind that you will need to fast for 8 to 10 hours prior to your health screening and blood draw is via a finger prick.
  • To complete/update youronline health risk assessmentfor 2020 while logged into Be Well, select "My Wellness" and then select "Health Risk Assessment."
  • Results of your screening remainconfidentialand will be provided directly to you by Be Well at the time of screening.

Deadline Reminder: All Tier 1 activities can be completed in one visit with a Be Well onsite screening. For all others,final Tier 1 paperwork/action items must be completed by April 30 with any final paperwork received by Be Well no later than May 15, 2020.

Lunch & Learn: Benefits of Movement for Stress Management (Live Streamed)

Physical activity is a powerful tool for health. Not only does it reduce our risk of physical disease, but it also helps us with emotional well-being.

Join us on Fri., March 6, from noon - 1 p.m. as Trisha Sterringer, MS, DN, LD, CSCS of Be Well Solutions leads us through discussion on this very important topic of movement and stress management. Some of the touch points will center on:

  • Stress and why it's a problem
  • Stress and the relationship to physical and emotional well-being
  • Physical activity to decrease the harmful effects of stress
  • How to get started on your own movement journey
  • Long-term stress relief

This session is available to all full- and part-time employees on all KSU campuses. . For full-time, benefits-eligible employees participating in the Wellness Your Way program, this session will be worth 10 points toward your Tier One total.
