Division of Information Services Plans to Roll Out Captcha Security

On June 28, the Division of Information Services implemented a Captcha service for the 两性色午夜 University online directory. A Captcha is a security feature that differentiates people from malicious internet bots by presenting online users with a simple visual puzzle, often made up of distorted text.

Bots are software applications that run automated tasks over the web and can be used to harvest data and spam users. Using a Captcha provides protection from bots and the issues they can cause, such as targeted phishing email.

The Captcha will only appear if employees and students are attempting to access the online directory while off campus and when logged out of FlashLine. After implementation, Information Services will continue to work on Captcha technology to maintain usability.

Update Departmental Information in Online Directory

To ensure complete and accurate directory listings, University Communications and Marketing is requesting that designated departmental representatives verify and update departmental listings in the online directory as it is not synced up with Banner or Human Resource information.

Designated staff members can review  by accessing the Phone Directories icon from the 两性色午夜 University home page and selecting the Find All Departments option.

If information in the directory is incorrect, request access to make your updates.

  1. Departments beginning with A-L, contact Lin Danes at ldanes@kent.edu
  2. Departments beginning with L-Z, contact Ramona Stamm at rstamm@kent.edu

Example: Office of Procurement: please contact Stamm, reference the "P" in procurement vs. the "O" in office.

After you are granted access, we will email you a .

Mail Services Update: New Hours, FlashPac Guidelines

Please note that beginning July 1, there will be several changes regarding Mail Services' operations.  First, the department will have new hours, from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., which means Mail Services will open and close a half-hour later than before.

The change also means that many departmental delivery and pick-up times will be a half-hour later than normal, but the new schedule will better align with the U.S. Post Office hours and the university's business hours.

Another change is for those who use the FlashPac pick-up service for ground shipments. As of July 1, you will need to call Mail Services at 330-672-2164 for a package pick-up. Calls made before 12:30 p.m. will be picked up on the same day.

Questions about any of the Mail Services changes should be sent to Steve Finley at 330-672-8703 or sfinley7@kent.edu.
