In addition to fulfilling their attendance and volunteer responsibilities, all DI Fellows are responsible for maintaining active participation in the program. These participation responsibilities evolve as a student progresses through the levels of the program:

  • Level 1 -3 DI Fellows are responsible for completing 4 Canvas reflections per level that reflect how they have engaged with the elements of the DI Toolkit.

  • Level 1 DI Fellows are asked to attend a DI Hub Orientation session to become DI Hub members.

  • Level 2 DI Fellows are asked to serve on at least 1 project team per year.

  • Level 3-4 DI Fellows are asked to lead at least 1 project team per year.

Serve

Once they reach Levels 3 and 4, DI Fellows are responsible for serving in mentorship and leadership positions within the DI Fellows Program. DI Fellows who reach Level 3 are formally recognized as DI Fellows Mentors and are asked to serve as peer mentors to Level 1 and Level 2 DI Fellows. DI Fellows peer mentors are responsible for promoting full participation within the DI Fellows Program, including eliciting different perspectives, ideas, and voices during program meetings and activities and partnering with DI STAFF to develop engaging events and outreach opportunities. DI Fellows who reach Level 4 are formally recognized as DI Fellows Masters and are asked to serve on the DI Fellows Program Student Leadership Team. This leadership team helps facilitate the DI Fellows Program as part of the shared governance model for the program.
