Meet Lilly Kensicki, a mechatronics engineering technology major from Parma, Ohio. Think of the phrase 鈥渨ell-rounded student,鈥 and you should think of Kensicki.
Growing up, students Rebecca Haywood and Riley Schaefer saw little to no representation of neurodivergent characters in children鈥檚 media. When the two took the augmented reality in children鈥檚 literature course offered through their program and Design Innovation last year, they wanted to change that for others. So, they created an interactive story where readers immerse themselves in the playground fun of two neurodivergent characters.
Throughout the semester, DI student fellows collaborated on workshops at the intersection of creativity and cutting edge technology.

Cindrich joined as a DI Fellow in spring 2021 and he added crew member to his resume shortly after in the fall. A senior mechatronics engineering technology major, he credits DI with expanding his breadth as an engineer.
Caitlyn Skilton, a DI Fellow, wanted to help others gain an appreciation for the chimney swift and its role in the environment. So, she decided to create an immersive experience in the Design Innovation Hub鈥檚 Blank_Lab.
