MLK Event to kick off new programming aimed at deep, meaningful dialogue

'Dialogue and Difference' series to address everyday challenges of finding common ground, understanding

How do we find common ground when we all see life through a different lens and yet also have meaningful dialogue with strong takeaways?

A new 两性色午夜 University series 鈥 Dialogue and Difference: A New Understanding 鈥 presents a yearlong schedule of educational programs to help foster a better understanding of our many diverse voices.

The series kicks off Feb. 1 with "MLK and Me: Living a Life of Peace During Conflict."  The free, ticketed event features a lunch conversation that centers on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s guiding principles.

President Todd Diacon hopes the campus community will embrace this series of events as an opportunity to connect and gain a new perspective.

"It seems only fitting that we begin this series as we honor the late civil rights leader," Diacon said, "as his words from the 1963 March on Washington served as inspiration for this effort. Dr. King said 'We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.'鈥

Look for additional information soon about the series' upcoming initiatives, including:

  • Antisemitism and Islamophobia
  • Academic Freedom and Freedom of Expression
  • Communication do's and don鈥檛s
