Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Alum Featured in Akron Beacon Journal Celebrating 50th Anniversary of Art Gallery

Akron-based artist and Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ alumnus Don Drumm, ‘86, was featured in the Akron Beacon Journal for celebrating the 50th anniversary of Don Drumm Studios and Gallery while continuing to create new works regularly.

Drumm has completed many pieces, some of which can be found on Bowling Green State University’s campus, the Akron Zoo, Akron’s I Promise School and in the homes of many.

Using sand-cast aluminum to create his art, he has decades of experience using a foundry to create his artistic visions.

In many of his works, Drumm finds inspiration from the sun, and its shape.

"I was told by a [Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹] professor in college ... that circles are one of the hardest things to design because it's a complete statement, it's a connected thing," Drumm told the Akron Beacon Journal.

His wife, Lisa Drumm, has helped him grow the gallery since its beginning in 1971.
