Twenty-two women from across Ohio will competed in this year’s Miss Ohio Scholarship Program June 15 at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield.
Among the contestants three were Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University students who hold the titles Miss Oxford, Miss Akron Canton and Miss South Central.
Miss Oxford
Niles native Caitlin Seifert, 19, a fashion merchandising major, possesses a talent in baton twirling. Ms. Seifert’s platform, Unity in the Community: Making Your Community a Better Home through Volunteerism, emphasizes the importance of children of all ages becoming volunteers.
Miss Akron Canton
Emelia Sherin, 22, of Warren, studies public relations and has a knack for creative writing. Ms. Sherin’s talent is in monologue, and her platform, We Are Only Human, places a focus on combating the heroin epidemic while bringing awareness to the importance of mental health.
Miss South Central
Musical theatre major Danielle Vivcharenko, 20, of North Royalton, has a talent in the disciplines of singing and dancing. Ms. Vivcharenko’s platform for this year’s competition, stART-Art Education Advocacy, promotes performing arts education for children.
Update: Outgoing Miss Ohio Matti-Lynn Chrisman, a Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ alumna, placed the crown on the new Miss Ohio 2019, Miss Montgomery County Caroline Grace Williams.
