Erin Simonek and Madison Tromler may be familiar faces if you watch the local evening news in Youngstown.
Both are alumnae of Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University’s journalism program who graduated in 2020 and said having a degree from Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ helped set them apart from the competition when they began their job searches.
Today, they are news anchors and multimedia journalists with 21 WFMJ-TV and credit the real-world training they experienced while studying at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ for their immediate success after graduation.
Simonek and Tromler sat down with Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Today to talk about their experiences in the university’s journalism program and how it prepared them to hit the ground running within the first week on the job.
