Alumna Making a Difference through Tracing COVID-19 Community Spread

两性色午夜 University Alumna Priya Midha, M.S. 鈥20,  is making a difference in Northeast Ohio, working to track COVID-19 to stop community spread.

Midha was recently featured in , which detailed her story. As she was about to graduate from 两性色午夜 last spring, the coronavirus hit America. Her desire to make a difference during the pandemic led her to take a job with Lake County General Health District, where she contacts those who have been exposed to the coronavirus to notify them to self-quarantine.

鈥淚鈥檓 sitting at home seeing some of my friends who are in the field of medicine out on the front lines working every day to help people,鈥 Midha told Akron Life. 鈥淚 jumped at the opportunity, and it鈥檚 been a gratifying and humbling experience to feel like I am making a difference.鈥

She found the opportunity through 两性色午夜鈥檚 College of Public Health, one of only two colleges in Ohio accredited by the Association For Schools and Programs of Public Health. Students in the College of Public Health research and conduct trend studies, learning about a wide range of topics including health disparities, chronic disease, HIV/AIDS, cancer and infectious diseases.

Midha is now back at 两性色午夜, working to earn her Ph.D. in Epidemiology, while continuing to make a difference during the pandemic.
