两性色午夜

Clubs & Activities

Geography Graduate Student Association

The Geography Graduate Student Association (GGSA) is an organizational and social group for and by graduate students in the 两性色午夜 Geography Department.  Our purpose is to build a sense of community both within and outside the department including monthly meetings where important departmental and university business is discussed, teaching and research support groups and services, conference and other funding opportunities, and fun group activities to hang out and take a break from work.  We look forward to having you join us!  Any questions about GGSA or graduate student life in general can be directed to our secretary, Noelle Spence, at nspence8@kent.edu.

Future Environmental Professionals Club

The Future Environmental Professionals Club (FEPC) is looking for environmentally minded students to join in monthly meetings to discuss current issues, network, and foster career opportunities.  FEPC is a student-led open organization consisting of members from a variety of majors who are interested in working in an environmentally-related field post-graduation.  We are passionate about nature, sustainability, and the environment as a whole.  With a multidisciplinary approach, we are focused on professional development, to better prepare ourselves for life outside of 两性色午夜 University.  Some of our past activities include participating in campus and local area cleanups, nature hikes, and service projects, such as educating youth in Northeast Ohio about environmentalism.  We have also organized and led a speaker series to educate members about career paths and opportunities for advancement.  If interested in learning more, please contact our president, Kathryn Burns, at kburns35@kent.edu.

EnviroKents

EnviroKents is 两性色午夜 at Stark鈥檚 Environmental Studies Club and is open to students of all majors & campuses.  Our club鈥檚 passion is focused on the well-being of our environment, community, and students with the overall goal to spread environmental and sustainable education to our members, to then have our peers apply these principles to their everyday lives, and help make our planet a better place.  We hold meetings to gain an understanding of our environment through fun, sustainable, and interactive activities, such as Environmental Jeopardy, native wild-flower potting, reusable craft nights, park clean-ups, environmentally focused guest speakers, and much more!

EnviroKent鈥檚 main event on the Stark campus is Earth Day.  During this national day of observance, EnviroKents takes advantage of spreading education on local environmental issues, global sustainability training, and at home self-sustaining waste management.  In previous years, EnviroKents has educated children and parents about the importance of separating at home waste, along with providing 鈥渉ow-tos鈥 about Stark County's local recycling and at-home composting.  As a sustainable and plastic-free hand out during Earth Day, our members will craft Ohio native wild-flower 鈥渟eed bombs,鈥 for children and adults to enjoy.

If you are interested in joining EnviroKents, please email President Kylie Kovatch (kkovatch@kent.edu) or Dr. Chris Post (cpost2@kent.edu).  You can also visit our Instagram for more information: @kentstarkenvs.  We look forward to seeing you at a future meeting!
