Peggy Nzomo, University Libraries, is the 2016 recipient of the American Library Association (ALA) International Relations Committee’s “Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund.” She received this award at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress held Aug. 13-19 in Columbus, Ohio. She also was one of 50 librarians who received the 2016 IFLA Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Fellows scholarship.

The ɫҹ University Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve international reaccreditation. Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA), the program requires agencies to meet state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services.
ɫҹ University at Tuscarawas has been officially accepted into the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The announcement was made at the USCAA national convention in Richmond, Virginia. The application for USCAA membership was submitted in March.
Beginning with 2016 Fall Semester, the campus will offer men's and women's basketball and cross country, men's golf, women’s volleyball and bowling. Wrestling and soccer are among the sports that will be added to the Golden Eagles athletic program during the 2017-18 academic year.
Angela Anikienko, a ɫҹ University junior nursing student from LaGrange, Ohio, completed the United States Institute for Kangaroo Care’s® certification course at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital in June. Anikienko, who received a sponsorship from the institute to attend the course, was one of only three Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students in the nation to earn the certification.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed ɫҹ University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, ɫҹ remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
