Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University’s M.Ed. in School Counseling provides targeted education in school counseling studies. This program offers career benefits for students looking to specialize in school counseling.
The Master of Education degree in School Counseling prepares students for employment as professional school counselors in K-12 schools. This program is designed to fulfill the educational requirements for licensure as a Licensed School Counselor in the state of Ohio.
The program may be pursued on a part-time or full-time basis, although some full-time study is urged.
This program is designed to prepare students to sit for applicable licensure or certification in Ohio. The mission of the School Counseling program at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University is to prepare research-informed, ethically sound, and multiculturally responsive licensed professional school counselors in K - 12 institutions who are responsible for implementing comprehensive school counseling programs and delivering individual and group counseling within diverse school systems. We seek to deliver the high-quality education required by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) and to prepare students/graduates to meet the requirements of the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) to become Licensed School Counselors in K - 12 settings.
