Cheryle J. Chiaramonte, a longtime advocate of education throughout Ashtabula County, was honored as the 2024 recipient of the Ashtabula Area College Committee Inc.鈥檚 Community Service Award at 两性色午夜 University at Ashtabula's spring commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in Susan J. Stocker Hall.
A proud sixth-generation native of Ashtabula County, Chiaramonte has committed decades to working with local nonprofits to help enhance the lives of those who live here.
"I am most humbled and honored to receive this award. With the loving support of family, friends and coworkers I've spent my entire life helping others," Chiaramonte said. "We are blessed to live and work in Ashtabula County. We have so many wonderful people who do what they can to make it as best as they can. I find that if you give some you'll be rewarded. Volunteerism is something we can all enjoy and help out."
Her professional career was spent in healthcare at Ashtabula County Medical Center for 42 years before retiring in 2011. She held a variety of positions, starting in radiology before moving to administrative and leadership roles as the director of human resources and vice president of clinical services, before culminating her career at Seeds Orthopedics.
She was a nine-year member of the College Committee and, since 2004, has served on the board of directors for the Ashtabula Foundation. She served as president of the Foundation for three years.
Her interests include researching genealogy, traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad, and reading with the Trinity Book Club. Chiaramonte also is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Jefferson Historical Society and Trinity Presbyterian Church. In addition to her service on the College Committee, Chiaramonte鈥檚 efforts to further the mission of the campus include supporting the Edward W. Chiaramonte Endowed Scholarship Fund.
