Program Admission

Accepting a seat in the program is only for the upcoming spring semester. If a student waits, he or she must reapply next year. Once accepted to the program, students must take each semester consecutively for two years due to RT course offerings. If a student fails a class, at the discretion of the RT program director, they will be readmitted to the program the next year, one time only, to retake the failed semester and continue the program.

  • Accepted students must attend a program orientation meeting . More information will be given when an acceptance letter is received.
  • All students accepted into the program are required to complete fingerprinting and a state and federal background check. Instructions for completing this process will be provided during the new student orientation.

*Students should notify the RT program director of any convictions. A past conviction may disqualify him/her from completing clinical rotations, taking credentialing examinations, receiving a state license to practice (Section 4761.04 of the Ohio Revised Code), and/or obtaining employment after graduation.

The Respiratory Therapy Program accepts transfer students and coursework based on KSU鈥檚 transfer policies, however advanced placement in the Respiratory Therapy Program is not offered.
