Pushing the Limits of Entrepreneurship in the Arts

There is no limit to the impact the arts have on lives, communities and careers. This year, the College of the Arts welcomed over 1,100 attendees for its annual Art Without Limits event.

Art Without Limits, a free arts entrepreneurship event, was created to educate and inspire students, alumni and community members for a life in the arts. Attendees had the opportunity to hear industry professionals share their journey along with insights and strategies for developing an entrepreneurial mindset in the arts. This year's speakers included Aimon Ali (fashion), Heather Bhandari (marketing and branding), Ananya Chatterjea (dance), Gina DeSantis (art), Jerrilyn Duckworth (theatre), Bryan Helsel (music) and Jess Williams (animation and game design).

In addition to attending the presentations, high school students experienced interactive sessions in more than eight disciplines that helped enhance their understanding of the arts, entrepreneurship and the opportunities that are available at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University. These sessions provided a variety of hands-on activities, demonstrations and engagement that allowed students to: attend an open rehearsal and Q&A with dance faculty, explore the creative process with guest musician Conrad Tao, tap into rhythmic activities, learn about art as activism through performance poetry, witness a high school pitch competition, tour our art studios and see live demonstrations, get in the action with a pop-up game and animation arcade, get at look at our recent fashion show, tour the Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University Museum and more.  Attendees could also explore various student clubs through the Student Organization Fair. During the event, the College of the Arts announced the winners of the ArtsLAUNCH! 2024 Grant Competition. Read more about the winners and their proposals.
