Four Ways to Add an Image to a Web Page

You have four options for which type of feature image you want displayed on your page.  Huge, normal (1500x600px) and large feature images expands the entire width of the page.  If more than one is added a slideshow will appear.  Small feature images appears in the upper left corner of the page above the left navigation.  For all the following is required:

  • Files must be less than 3 MB
  • Allowed file types: png gif jpg jpeg
  • Image pixel dimension must be equal to or larger than the image size being used

  • Files must be less than 3 MB
  • Allowed file types include png, gif, jpg, and jpeg
  • Images must be 500px x 750px

INFORMATION GRAPHICS

The Information Graphics Library displays the various graphics that have already been created for use on Drupal.  Information Graphics are used throughout Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ websites to call out points of pride and facts about the university or specific university programs. Graphics are hyperlinked to areas of the website with more information about that fact.

  • Information graphics are to be a single, approved color, although varying opacities may be used
  • Dimensions are 417px x 417px. Graphics are scaled to various sizes
  • Graphics should be iconic in nature and use flat design. Photos should never be used.
  • Graphics must be in .gif or .png format, with a transparent background
  • Graphic color must provide contrast with the background it's placed on.
  • View the Information Graphics Library to find approved information graphics, or to request a new graphic.

IMAGES USED INSIDE THE BODY FIELD

Images used inside the body field must be sized and saved for web before being added to Drupal as a File for use inside the body field.  The height and width dimensions will be removed so it is important that it is sized first.

  • Files must be less than 3 MB
  • Allowed file types include png, gif, jpg, and jpeg
  • Images should be sized according to how it would best appear on a desktop/laptop computer.  Drupal will resize and crop the image on smaller devices.
    • Vertical images - a height of 450px is a good maximum height
    • Horizontal images - a width of 450px is a good maximum width
