Student Research Colloquium Showcases Projects

Student research projects were showcased during the Student Research Colloquium held on April 11 at 两性色午夜 University at Tuscarawas.

Every fall semester, 两性色午夜 Tuscarawas students are given the opportunity to submit a research proposal to the Student Affairs Committee which reviews and funds the proposals. Once selected, students work with a faculty mentor on rigorous and meaningful undergraduate research.

This year鈥檚 colloquium showcased the research of seven students with three projects. Four faculty mentors partnered with the students on their projects, including: Dr. Dhruba Panthi, assistant professor of engineering technology; Dr. Donald Gerbig, associate professor of biological sciences; Dr. Kurt Eisermann, assistant professor of biological sciences; and Amanda Hayes, associate professor of English.

The 2021-2022 Student Research Colloquium Projects include the following:

Title: 鈥淩obotic Material Handler鈥

Presenters: Jacub Bolden, Justin Crowl, Christopher Gray, Troy Lindsay and Kyle Nitz

Mentor: Dhruba Panthi

 

Title: 鈥淓xploring the Degradation Effect of Ultraviolet Light on Bovine Collagen鈥

Presenter: Lucas Marsh

Mentors: Dr. Donald Gerbig and Dr. Kurtis Eisermann

 

Title: 鈥淎 Chink in the Armor of Chivalry in Malory鈥檚 Le Morte D鈥橝rthur

Presenter: Brett Swigert

Mentor: Dr. Amanda Hayes

The purposes of the Student Research Colloquium are to introduce students to the skills and methodologies of theoretical, applied, and/or basic research, to provide students with the opportunity to expand their academic involvement and experience beyond the classroom, and to strengthen collaboration among faculty and students by providing resources for research projects of mutual interest.
