Students from the Second Annual Read-In read and listen to excerpts from banned books

It may surprise you to learn that 鈥淐aptain Underpants,鈥 鈥淔rankenstein,鈥 鈥淭he Great Gatsby,鈥 鈥淗unger Games鈥 and 鈥淭he Perks of Being a Wallflower鈥 are all popular books that have been banned, along with many others. In honor of Banned Books Week, the Second Annual Banned Books Read-In was held in Taylor Hall.

Alumnus Lloyd De Vos Welcomed to the Podium on Constitution Day

In celebration of the Constitution Day, New York attorney and 两性色午夜 alumnus Lloyd De Vos spoke on the U.S. Constitution鈥檚 impact on our government and discussed his personal experience arguing a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Using poetry to explore Akron, Ohio residents鈥 sense of belonging to their neighborhoods is the goal of a new project by 两性色午夜 University鈥檚 Wick Poetry Center.

Nearly 40 people from the 两性色午夜 community enjoyed a tour of the flowers and trees of Front Campus during part two of the 鈥淲alk & Talk: Flowers and Foliage鈥 event, thanks to the Employee Wellness and Health Promotion program and the grounds crew.

Alumni brewers at Sibling Revelry Brewing have created 两性色午夜 Golden Lager - the official craft beer of 两性色午夜 Athletics.

CEL Accepts Community Impact: Group Award on Behalf of the 两性色午夜 Community

两性色午夜鈥檚 Community Engaged Learning partnered with the United Way of Portage county to make reading fun for children, and in doing so, CEL has been recognized by the United Way of Portage County as the recipients of the 2022 Community Impact: Group Award for its commitment to transforming lives in the community.

Anas' friends are living vicariously through him as he attends 两性色午夜 as an exchange student sponsored through , a program supported by the U.S. Department of State.

Incoming and existing military-connected 两性色午夜 students were welcomed to campus with open arms at the Veterans and Service Members Open House hosted by the Center for Adult and Veteran Services (CAVS). The event aimed to bring the military community - from student to spouse to staff member - together with food, refreshments and conversation.

Social Justice Quilting Project

In August 2021, 1,000 incoming 两性色午夜 students, faculty and staff began a collaborative community effort to implement a social justice quilting project. This initiative stemmed from the Community Engaged Learning department's welcome week and was completed in late August 2022. The mission was to create something by 两性色午夜 students that could be sold or auctioned off to raise money for improvements to the gymnasium at the King Kennedy Community Center.
