New book of poetry inspired by local park’s plants, insects and wildlife; University LIbraries; November 13, 2024

An artistic collaboration from the ɫҹ University Press and the Wick Poetry Center produced a new compilation of poetry that takes the reader on a literary exploration through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The book, features an anthology of 81 renowned writers from Northeastern Ohio, including Poet Laureate Kari Gunter-Seymour and Deborah Fleming, author of “Resurrection of the Wild,” winner of the 2020 PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay.

Recently, the book of poetry was spotlighted on Fox 8 Cleveland’s program, The segment included an interview with Assistant Director of Wick Poetry Center Charlie Malone, who is also an editor of the book, and Kira Preneta, one of the book's contributors.

To celebrate University Press Week, a of poetry from many of the contributing authors featured in “Light Enters the Grove” will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at Elizabeth’s Bookshop, 647 E Market Street in Akron.
