Each year, ����ɫ��ҹ University honors full-time, nontenure track and part-time faculty members who are nominated by their students and peers for being among the most dedicated, highly effective and motivated professors at the university. The Outstanding Teaching Award is presented by the University Teaching Council. The three award recipients will be honored at the University Teaching Council’s Celebrating College Teaching conference luncheon and awards ceremony on Oct. 20.

Each year on Oct. 1, universities nationwide are required to disseminate a summary of reported crimes on or near campus.

Each year, DesignIntelligence honors excellence in education and education administration by naming 25 exemplary professionals in these fields. The 2017-2018 class of education role models were selected by DesignIntelligence staff with extensive input from thousands of design professionals, academic department heads, and students. Educators and administrators from each of the disciplines of architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture are considered for inclusion.

Yosh Hakutani, Ph.D., Department of English, organized and chaired a session, “Lynching and Modern American Fiction,” and presented “The Genesis of the Chicago Renaissance: The Wright-Dreiser Tradition” at the American Literature Association conference in Boston, May 25-28, 2017.

����ɫ��ҹ University's Office of International Student Affairs welcomed new international students enrolled this academic year by organizing airport pickups.

The 23rd annual National Depression Screening Day at ����ɫ��ҹ University will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, at several ����ɫ��ҹ locations, and events are open to all students, faculty and staff, as well as the larger community.

October will be a busy month for research at ����ɫ��ҹ University. The Division of Research and Sponsored Programs is hosting three events, two of them with a focus on student research. These include two research forums, featuring five ����ɫ��ҹ faculty speakers, and the presentation of Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) student research projects.
