JMC Seeks Tenure-Track Professor

Applications invited for an opportunity to engage with a strong and forward-thinking school.

The 两性色午夜 University School of Journalism and Mass Communication invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor with multimedia journalism skills, teaching experience and the ability to help lead curricular change as our school evolves to meet the media needs of the 21st Century.

Candidates should have at least a master鈥檚 degree and significant experience in digital journalism. They must have strong industry credentials and a body of work demonstrating written, visual and editing skills on multiple platforms, including video, audio, print and online.

Special preference will be given to those who have strong storytelling skills and expertise in advanced reporting techniques with an emphasis on mobile and data journalism.

The successful candidate should be willing to expand upon his or her professional or scholarly work and take a leadership position in our undergraduate journalism program while teaching two or three professional courses per semester.

Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The School teaches a diverse population of more than 1,000 undergraduate and 250 master鈥檚 students to become critical thinkers and professional communicators. The School is ACEJMC-accredited and offers undergraduate degrees in journalism, visual journalism, advertising, public relations and electronic media. Graduate degrees are offered in media management, public relations and reporting and editing, including a specialization in scholastic journalism education. The School is home to the John S. and James L. Knight-supported Center for Scholastic Journalism, a national clearinghouse of information for and about student journalists and their advisers, a research center on issues affecting scholastic media, an educator of journalism teachers and an advocate for student press freedom and the First Amendment.

The School is part of the College of Communication and Information, an innovative collaboration with the School of Communication Studies, the School of Visual Communication Design and the School of Library and Information Science. The College offers an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program.
