J. Derek Kingsley
Biography
Dr. Kingsley's area of research is autonomic modulation and vascular changes in response to resistance exercise and resistance exercise training in healthy individuals and those with chronic diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), is a Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), and holds certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach with distinction (CSCS*D). He completed his undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and his graduate work at Florida State University. Upon completion of his doctorate he took a faculty position at Indiana State University before joining the faculty at 两性色午夜 University in 2013. His research has primarily encompassed 1) improving quality of life in women with Fibromyalgia through the use of resistance exercise but also alternative medicine such as chiropractic care and low-level laser therapy, 2) the effects of resistance exercise and alternative resistance exercise (heavy battle rope, kettlebells) on autonomic modulation, vascular function, and cognition, 3) the use of cannabis as an ergogenic aid.
