Dear Campus Communities,
This time last year, I don鈥檛 think any of us could have predicted precisely how tumultuous 2020 would be for our world, our country, our community, and our families. I have been so impressed鈥攁nd inspired鈥攂y the strength I have seen from all of you in adapting to ever-changing circumstances.
We are witnessing the realities of how racism and discrimination have gripped our nation for far too long. The struggle for transformation is difficult, but I am confident we have faculty and staff who are all too aware of how necessary change may be. As mentioned within the 鈥淪earching for a Better Future鈥 message earlier this week, understanding and improving the world demands kindness and respect in what we do. At 两性色午夜, we are devoted to the pursuit of equity for all individuals, regardless of race and identity. Recognizing the diversity of the individuals and voices who have spoken, gathered, and encouraged each other in the past few weeks, I want to reiterate my support for the people of color in our KSU community. I want them to know that I am very much aware that they too are experiencing in their personal lives some of what is playing out across the nation.
In moving forward together, our strength is in the foundation we provide for each other. We appreciate the skills, competencies, and dialogue each of you possess which enhances the comfort of those around us. Your commitment to the health and prosperity of our KSU community during such a difficult time is not easy, and I thank you all immensely for your patience and dedication to your students, colleagues, families, and communities. If you are feeling particularly anxious or distressed about recent events or the re-opening of our campus, please feel free to express your concerns to your supervisor or me. We are here to assist each other and to promote communication among everyone.
Best wishes,
