If you’ve been on the Kent Campus this summer you’ve undoubtedly noticed the considerable construction projects, including new buildings, renovations to existing facilities and improvements to several parking lots. Here’s a recap of what’s been happening, including several department moves.
Buildings and Moves
As part of a campuswide commemoration of veterans, the Uumbaji Art Gallery at ɫҹ University is requesting artwork submissions of any subject matter and various mediums. Entry forms can be downloaded at www.kent.edu/pas/uumbaji. The dates of the exhibit are Oct. 31 to Dec. 1, 2016. An opening reception will take place on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 5 p.m. in the Uumbaji Gallery, located on the first floor of Ritchie Hall, Room 134, on the Kent Campus.
University College and the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at ɫҹ University are accepting nominations for the second annual Social Responsibility and Diversity Awards Celebration. The Social Responsibility and Diversity Awards recognize students, faculty, alumni and community supporters who provide outreach support and programs focused on increasing the success of underrepresented and/or underserved students.

For decades, biologists researching a cure for Alzheimer’s disease have remained in the dark almost as much as the ailment’s victims. A ɫҹ University professor, however, is looking to stop the disease before it starts.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed ɫҹ University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded.
