Christine Hudak, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been accepted as a contributing author to the book (tentatively) titled The Handbook of Continuing Professional Development for the Health IT Professional, to be published by HIMSS in 2017. Her chapter, “The Many Facets of Continuing Education,” will appear in the section on “The Importance of Lifelong Learning.”

ɫҹ University global communication studies graduate student Daniel Socha’s research on a nonprofit organization’s efforts to support youth education in the Democratic Republic of Congo recently caught the attention of National Public Radio (NPR).
The fall 2016 Bowman Breakfast will take place at ɫҹ University in the Kent Student Center Ballroom on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Doors open at 7 a.m., breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m., and the program will follow at 8 a.m.
ɫҹ University’s Online Learning Team in the Office of Continuing and Distance Education has earned national recognition for outstanding work in online education. The Association for Educational Communications and Technology presented first- and second-place awards to ɫҹ for its faculty training courses, Online Classroom Examples and Ideas: A Showcase Course and A Pathway to Excellence: ɫҹ’s Online Faculty Development Program.
The ɫҹ of Wellness Steering Committee is pleased to launch a mini-grant program. The program supports ɫҹ University's initiative to create a healthy campus that enhances the health and wellness of students, faculty and staff at all ɫҹ campuses. Any university department or student organization may apply for funding to support a wellness initiative in their area.
ɫҹ University now has a community for international faculty and staff to connect, share resources and develop long-lasting friendships.
ɫҹ University’s Women’s Center will hold its next food drive called Squirrel Away Food for the Pantry from Sept. 15-30. Donations will be accepted at the Women's Center, located in the Williamson House on the Kent Campus (1200 E. Main St., Kent), on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
Donations can include nonperishable food items, diapers, personal and feminine care products, and cookware and utensils.
The Pantry at the Women’s Center also seeks volunteers.
International students arriving at Cleveland Hopkins Airport for the fall semester were greeted with a warm welcome from ɫҹ University staff and students.
Eron Memaj, international student affairs director, organized the airport pickup service for new international students arriving at ɫҹ.

The ɫҹ University Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed ɫҹ University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, ɫҹ remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
