Michael Daniels, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Michael Daniels (he/him) serves as an assistant professor of Higher Education Administration in the College of Education Health, and Human Services at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University. Dr. Daniels is a passionate leader with more than 10 years of professional experience in higher education administration and student affairs. His administrative experience includes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, leadership education, multicultural affairs, human resource management, academic advising, and student programming. During his career he has enjoyed supporting students’ development through meaningful and intentional programs, initiatives, events, and services. He coordinates Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹'s the Career and Advising certificate, and teaches courses on leadership development theory, college student development, and intercultural communication.
Dr. Daniels specializes in the constructivist grounded theory and focuses his research in three areas: (1) understanding the socialization process and identity development of Black men; (2) troubling traditional understandings of leadership, leadership education, and leader identity development and (3) exploring policies and practices within educational systems with a critical lens.
Dr. Daniels is a member of NASPA, ACPA, and ASHE and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Gender and Women in Higher Education.
