Proudest Accomplishments:

  • Proud Disability Advocate, ensuring that students from marginalized backgrounds navigate the processes of receiving all support necessary for them to be successful in higher education institutions.
  • Mentor for Men of Color in higher education, curating spaces for connection, reflection, and empowerment, fueling their service to communities locally and abroad within their respective disciplines and professions.
  • Centers intersectionality in practice, encouraging students and colleagues to reflect on their multiple identities and how these impact the ways they 'show up,' so they are positioned to be their best selves and modeling positive behavior for others.
  • An innovator in the field, leading efforts to decolonize mindsets in the practice of marriage and family therapy within clinical settings. By challenging traditional frameworks and integrating culturally responsive approaches, I work to create therapeutic environments that honor and respect diverse cultural backgrounds. This approach not only enriches the therapeutic process but also promotes healing and growth for individuals and families from all walks of life.
