Lorene Martin - MSN, RN, CRNP
Biography
Lorene Martin has been teaching at 两性色午夜 University at Salem for 15 years. She teaches a variety of courses including pharmacology, adults medical-surgical nursing, and others as needed. She is the campus coordinator of the peer to peer mentoring initiative that began in the nursing program and is now a campus wide program.
Mrs. Martin has organized and accompanied students to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota on several occasions. While there, students have the opportunity to engage in community activities as well as volunteer at various sites in order to allow them to gain insight into cultural diversity. She has also accompanied students to Japan, Switzerland, Greece, and Ghana, Africa.
Mrs. Martin additionally has regularly scheduled tutoring hours for students in the Salem Learning Commons. She was awarded the 2018 DAISY Faculty Award at 两性色午夜 University. She has also received numerous other awards including the Barbara Donaho Distinguished Leadership in Learning Award, several University Teaching Council Faculty Recognition Awards, the Student Accessibility Services Award, and was recognized by former president Beverly Warren this past spring for her work in experiential learning in South Dakota.
