A&S Awards History Department faculty members Research and Study Grants

Four of our colleagues were awarded research and study grants by A&S:

Dr. Kim Gruenwald was awarded a Research Advance grant for her proposal "Philadelphia Merchants on Western Waters."  

Dr. Tim Scarnecchia was awarded an Innovation Research grant for up to three years for his proposal "Zimbabwean Urban History Research and Workshops: Harare, Zimbabwe, 2013-2015."  

Dr. Elizabeth Smith-Pryor was awarded a Collaborative Research Award for her contribution to the proposal "Enhancing Social Cognition through Humanities Courses."  

Dr. Rebecca Pulju was awarded a Research Resources Award for her proposal "Secret Agents of Modernity: Modernization and the Peasant Family in Postwar France, 1945-1975."  

Prof. Gruenwald's article, "'The invention of the steamboat was intended for US': Steamboats and Western Identity in the Early Republic," appeared in Ohio Valley History, 12 (Fall 2012), 3-20.
