A Word From Dean Spake

Spring semester started with exciting news, achievements and new faces for the College of Business Administration. We welcomed Robert Hisrich, Ph.D., our new Associate Dean of Graduate and International Programs. Bob is the former Director of the Walker Center of Global Entrepreneurship at the Thunderbird School of Global Management and past A. Malachi Mixon, III Chaired Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies at Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management. Bob's many years of global business experience will propel the college with his innovative ideas and vast knowledge.

The success of the college is driven not only by the quality of our teaching but by the research accomplishments of our faculty. Asli Arikan, Ph.D. and Ilgaz Arikan, Ph.D. recently had their research accepted by two leading academic journals in their fields. The Arikans joined the College of Business Administration in 2014.

Top quality research and faculty success transition to the classroom and our students, which is reflected in student success. Two such success stories are Vince Shannon and Emma Johnson, who are featured in the newsletter.

Lastly, I would like to invite you to join us on April 16th and 22nd for the Global Management Center and Michael D. Solomon Speaker Series to showcase professionals outside the college. We are excited to have keynote speakers Patrick Haggerty and Matthew Likens, a COBA alumnus, share their insights with our students, faculty, staff and the community.

I hope to see you at an upcoming event and look forward to sharing our good news.
