Neuroimmunology
Neuroimmunology is a primary focus of the following BHRI members' research:
My lab studies the role of RNA editing in neurodevelopment, neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases, including the role and consequences of viral infections (among them Zika virus, West Nile virus and SARS-Cov-2).
Our research focuses on how cells of the immune system interact with glia within the central nervous system during health and disease. Specifically, we hope to further elucidate the mechanisms at work during the autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis.
