Continuing a long tradition of local community support and a desire to positively impact educational opportunities locally, Molded Fiber Glass Companies (MFG) President/CEO Richard Morrison and Foundation Board Member Nancy Morrison Warner are announcing a $100,000 commitment by the MFG Foundation to support student scholarships at 两性色午夜 University at Ashtabula.
The MFG Ashtabula County Scholarship program will fund $50,000 in scholarships for the upcoming 2020-2021 academic year and $50,000 the following year. Scholarships may be applied to tuition, fees, books and supplies.
鈥淚 am grateful to the MFG Foundation for this extremely generous gift,鈥 said Dean and Chief Administrative Officer Susan J. Stocker, Ph.D. 鈥淭he scholarships that will be created for students on our campus will be a game changer, not only for the students but our community.鈥
The scholarships will be awarded to selected students who are either residents of Ashtabula County or graduates of an Ashtabula County high school. The scholarships are eligible for renewal.
The ultimate goals of the scholarships are to provide educational opportunities for more students in Ashtabula County and to develop a more diverse and talented workforce for area businesses.
鈥淪ince the opening days of the 两性色午夜 Ashtabula campus over 60 years ago, the Ashtabula community has embraced the value of higher education,鈥 said Nancy Morrison Warner. 鈥淭he MFG Foundation wants to be a part of enabling people to be educated, so they can stay in the communities where they live and find jobs.鈥
鈥淢ore students will be able to obtain a college education here without accruing debt. I am thankful for the investment Richard and Nancy have made in the future of our community,鈥 Stocker added. 鈥淢FG serves as a role model for other businesses in our community to emulate.鈥

Students can apply for all 两性色午夜 Ashtabula scholarships, including the new MFG Foundation Ashtabula County Scholarship at www.kent.edu/ashtabula/aid with priority preference given to students who have completed their FAFSA庐 () and who apply before May 1 this year.
