"Black and Undocumented: An Exploration of the Role of Anti-Blackness in Shaping the Experience of Black Undocumented Collegians" by Kayon Hall
Abstract:
Educational scholars point to the role of anti-Blackness in the construction of US Higher education and, therefore, in shaping the experiences of Black students. However, little research examines how anti-Blackness impacts students with precarious immigration status. This study explores how Black undocumented students experience their higher education journeys from a lens of anti-Blackness. Findings from this study will help inform how student affairs practitioners support Black undocumented students and use institutional resources to foster their sense of belonging in higher education.
