Biography
Background: I studied electrical engineering, but switched to physics in graduate school. I got my Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia in 1977. I am interested in condensed matter physics, particularly in soft materials such as liquid crystals and elastomers. I am also interested in optics and general physics.
