Establish your Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ student account in FlashLine
Your first (and very important!) step is to log in to and establish your Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ student account. FlashLine is a virtual hub of information that you will use throughout your time as a Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ student.
Get Started
- To log in for the first time, go to .
- Enter your Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ email address (ex. "janedoe@kent.edu"). This can be found in the "Your FlashLine Credentials" email you received after you were admitted.
- To create your temporary password, enter the following information in the drop down boxes:
- The month you were born.
- The year you were born.
- The last five digits of your Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Identification Number. This can be found in your admission letter.
- Once you have successfully logged in with this temporary password, you will be prompted to select a new password. You will also be asked to provide an alternate email address and answer challenge questions that you can use to reset your password in case it is forgotten.
- After you establish your account, please save your FlashLine credentials somewhere safe.
Returning users should log in to FlashLine directly at .

Pay your $150 enrollment fee in your applicant portal
To pay the enrollment fee online, . Follow the payment instructions.
The enrollment fee is refundable until Dec. 1 for incoming spring students and May 1 for incoming fall students. You can request a refund by contacting your admissions counselor or emailing us at admissions@kent.edu.

Set up Your KSUview Account for Parent and Family Access
KSUview is an easy and safe way to share your student information such as financial aid, personal information (address, phone and email), registration (status and schedule) and your student account (detail, summary, tax notification and holds).
This could be helpful if your parent or family member will help you with financial aid or need information about account balances, which are other items you will address as part of this checklist.
If you would like to give your parent of family member access to your information, complete these steps:
- and select "Student" in the left-hand column.
- Under "Student" select "Resources."
- Under "Resources" select "Requests and Authorizations."
- The webpage will be displayed; double click on KSUview.
- Choose "Add Designee" and fill in the fields for First Name, Last Name and Email Address for the person you’re giving access to; click "Add Designee."
- Click on "Expand" (designee name). In the Profile tab, complete the information requested for your designee. On the Authorization tab, select the items you’d like your designee to view online.

Pay close attention to dates for financial aid, on-campus housing and new student orientation, called Destination Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ (DKS).
New First-Year Students Entering in the Fall 2025 Semester
- December 2024 – The 2025-26 opens.
- Feb. 1, 2025 – On-campus housing application opens.
- Feb. 1, 2025 – Student orientation called Destination Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ (DKS) registration opens.
- Feb. 15, 2025 – Deadline to submit the to receive maximum scholarships and the best financial aid offer.
- May 1, 2025 – Priority deadline to to confirm your place in the freshman class.
- TBD – Residence hall move-in begins.
- Aug. 14-17, 2025 – KSU Kickoff begins.
- Aug. 18, 2025 – Fall classes begin.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and apply for scholarships
The 2025-26 will open in December 2024. This is one of the most important applications of your college career. To receive the best financial offer from Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University, Fall 2025 semester students must submit the FAFSA by Feb. 15, 2025. Be sure to add our FAFSA code: 003051.
ScholarshipUniverse is your hub for finding and applying for scholarships. It is a search portal that will match you to internal (Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹-specific) and external scholarships. Internal university scholarship applications have deadlines between Feb. 1 and March 1, 2025, while external scholarship deadlines vary. Be sure you keep track of when each application is due.

Attend Admitted Student Events
There are three main events:
- Future Flash Day: Between February and April, visit campus during our landmark admitted student event. In a day personalized to your needs and your major, get any lasting questions answered all while celebrating your acceptance to Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹!
- Next Steps Events: During March and April, attend these virtual information sessions to learn about your next steps as a student – from orientation to housing and financial aid. A Q&A and virtual campus tour will be offered at the end!
- 30-Minute Flash Topics: In late spring, attend these quick, virtual events to get info on our award-winning student services, clubs and organizations, and all the ways to get involved on campus.
All admitted student events are by invitation only. You will receive a personalized registration link to the email used to apply for admission, or you can access these events in your .

Apply for housing or submit exemption form
You can apply to live in one of our 20+ residence halls and several Living-Learning Programs (programs where students with similar interests live together) beginning Oct. 15 for incoming spring students and Feb. 1 for incoming fall students.

Register for new student orientation, called Destination Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹
Your college journey at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ begins at student orientation – Destination Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ (DKS)! You can register for your preferred DKS date in your .
Registration opens Oct. 15 for incoming spring students and Feb. 1 for incoming fall students. DKS is a required orientation program where you will meet with your academic advisor and schedule all your classes.

Congratulations and Welcome to Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹!
After completing all of the above steps, you are now a confirmed Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ student. Congratulations!
There are a few more things you need to do before the semester starts:
- Submit your final transcripts and test scores. Ask your school counselor to send us your final high school transcript with your graduation date, which is a required item to begin taking classes at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹. To receive college credit for any college-level courses taken in high school, you also need to send us your final college transcript(s) from the college(s) awarding credit and/or your Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate scores.
- Review class scheduling timelines and tuition payment options. You can find this information on the Financial Billing and Enrollment Center (FBEC) website.
- Request your chosen name. We recognize that some students use a name other than their legal name to identify themselves, so Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ has established a process for students to request a chosen name. We recommend you do this before arriving on campus. You can do this by logging in to your and following the steps below:
- Log in to FlashLine and select "Student" in the left-hand column.
- Under "Student," select "Resources."
- Under "Resources," select "Requests and Authorizations."
- The webpage will be displayed; double click on "Chosen Name Request."

Move in and attend KSU Kickoff activities!
1. If you are living on campus, review residence hall move-in dates and details.
2. Attend KSU Kickoff the week leading up to fall semester! This is an energetic, fun and unforgettable days-long welcome event! Kickoff activities and events will familiarize you with the KSU community, faculty and staff, make new friends and prepare to start off the fall semester.
