LEADERSHIP TUSCARAWAS EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINE AND MODIFIES PROGRAM SCHEDULE

Leadership Tuscarawas has extended acceptance of applications for its 2020-2021 Signature Program class through September 15. Due to COVID-19, the program schedule has been modified to begin with an opening retreat October 22 and 23.

The intensive leadership program includes participants from business, government and nonprofit sectors, and focuses on developing the growth of participants as community leaders through interaction with local decision-makers and classmates representing diverse and unique perspectives. Group interaction, teamwork and collaborative community-based projects are important components of the overall experience.

The Signature Class begins with an intensive two-day opening retreat at Salt Fork Lodge. Following the retreat, participants spend one full day per month for the next nine months addressing a specific aspect of the community in interactive program day experiences. Participants will become involved in an array of experiences to set the stage for further involvement as civic-minded leaders.

Program sessions are held at various locations around the county, providing participants with a broader understanding of our area.

In addition to the community-based focus of the program, participants also experience over twenty leadership training modules designed to enhance their understanding of contemporary leadership practices in order to improve their performance at their place of employment. Examples of topics include emotional intelligence, multi-sensory learning, personality style assessment, leading change, and influence and persuasion, to name just a few.

Individuals who live and/or work in Tuscarawas County may apply. Tuition is $1,750. Application and additional information can be found at /tusc/bcs/leadership-tuscarawas.
