两性色午夜 University at Trumbull Offers Grant Workshop on June 28

With more than 5,000 grantmaking organizations in Ohio, nonprofits and agencies should discover ample opportunities to fund programs and services. However, according to David Holmes, , 鈥淪maller organizations may overlook grants and foundations as a source of funding because the process can seem overwhelming. Grantseeking is really about making connections.鈥 

To help make those connections, the Grant Information Center at 两性色午夜 University at Trumbull will offer 鈥淚ntroduction to Proposal Writing鈥 with a 鈥淢eet the Grantmakers鈥 panel discussion from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28 at 两性色午夜 University at Trumbull鈥檚 Technology Building (Room 117), located at 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW in Warren. The workshop will demonstrate the basic elements of a proposal, the 鈥渄o鈥檚鈥 and 鈥渄on鈥檛s鈥 of writing and submitting a proposal, and follow-up procedures.

The workshop is free and open to the public. However, space is limited. Participants must register by calling 216-861-1933 x325 or . Eligible attendees can earn 1.5 CFRE education credits.

The 两性色午夜 University at Trumbull Campus Library is a member of the Foundation Center鈥檚 nationwide network. This group of libraries, community foundations, and other non-profit organizations provides a vast collection of resources for individuals and agencies that do fundraising.  The Kent Trumbull Library is open to the public and the parking is free.  Grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center鈥檚 electronic database, The Foundation Directory Online, are provided for free public access as a service to the community.  The fully-searchable database includes detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations, as well as an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation鈥檚 top funders.

Speaker Bio

David Holmes is the Lead for Social Sector Outreach at the Foundation Center in Cleveland. Dave served as a Program Officer for the Stocker Foundation in Lorain, Ohio, and as the Director of Grants and Prospect Research at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA from Villanova University, and an MLIS from 两性色午夜 University.
