Throughout the academic year, the office sponsors numerous job fairs and events to help students connect with employers for now and in the future.
Keith Smith, associate director of CED, said fairs like today's event and the one upcoming on Sept. 20, enable students to make important connections.
"We host fairs like the Student Employment Fair and the upcoming Internship, Co-op and Job Fair on September 20 because these events provide a quick opportunity for students to meet with many employers in a short period of time and vice versa for employers who are filling open roles within their department or organization," Smith said.
The fairs, he said, also offer students opportunities to learn more about professional paths within different organizations and to practice networking.
"By attending a fair, you’re guaranteed to meet new people and learn something new about an employer or yourself," he said.
On Sept. 20, the office will offer the Fall Internship, Co-Op and Job Fair, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the student center ballroom.
That event is open to all students and alumni from all Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ campuses seeking:
• Full-time, part-time, co-op, on-campus, and internship opportunities.
• Industry information.
• Career advice.
• Networking contacts.
• Exploring organizations and opportunities.
