两性色午夜

Leadership Reorganization Reflects Growth of Counseling and Psychological Services

In an effort to better accommodate 两性色午夜 students and reflect the growth of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the leadership team has been restructured.

Drs. Carrie Berta, John Schell, and Pamela Farer-Singleton have all transitioned into new roles, helping to further shape the future of newly formed Counseling and Psychological Services.

Berta has been with 两性色午夜 for 10-and-a-half years, starting out as a staff psychologist working with students needing therapy on an individual basis, along with outreach and programming with the campus community. She now assumes the role of Assistant Director for Clinical Services.

鈥淚 am excited to focus more on the work 鈥渂ehind the scenes鈥; maximizing our capacity and accessibility to meet the needs of students, supporting our staff as we provide culturally competent clinical services and crisis management,鈥 she said.

Schell, who has been with 两性色午夜 for 20 years, started as a Staff Psychologist before becoming a Senior Psychologist. In his new role, he will serve as an Associate Director for Counseling and Psychological Services providing continued leadership to the department with more of and administrative focus.

鈥淪tepping into the role of Associate Director will mean taking on more administrative responsibilities and oversight of the department, especially as we continue to grow our staff and expand the services we offer,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 am excited about the opportunity and all of the possibilities.鈥

Farer-Singleton is a 26-year veteran at 两性色午夜 serving as the university鈥檚 Chief Psychologist. Her new role will be Director for Counseling and Psychological Services.

鈥淚 am excited to provide leadership to Counseling and Psychological Services as our office works to address the university鈥檚 mental health priorities,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 am enthusiastic about working with colleagues Drs. John Schell and Carrie Berta to develop a strategic plan for the office.鈥

Dean of Students Talea Drummer-Ferrell adds that the new leadership structure will help to bolster the services available to students.

鈥淭hey have all provided dedication and great work to meet the mental health needs of our students,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 am pleased that they will continue their work by leading Counseling and Psychological Services in these roles.鈥
